I like this set, I'm psyched over getting it. I'd be curious to see what catalogue values in other books besides Scott's are. These are very lightly(impressive actually) hinged and Scott's values only never hinged in this grade at $73.05 in the '03 book. Actually the 10/ stamp disapoints me. It's really off centered compared to all the rest. Obviously a tougher one to get in VF.
Hmmm..... looks like an odd place to sit and make lace. Not even a table around her. Maybe I'm being too critical, it really is a disapearing art.
If the map were zoomed out, you'd see that St Helena is about 2/3rds of the way to africa off the eastern tip of Brazil(actually a tad south of the tip that far.
That's it? No more? I wish I could post nice sets every day.
Don't forget to write me a letter if you can and I'll write a nice one back.

Isle of Man and assorted US
Well, I'm gonna be digging out my perf gauge now. I just looked in the catalogue and the 16 P stamp comes in 14.5 gauge, catalogued at $22.50. Of course it'll be the 14x14.5 catalogued at $0.35, but hey worth a shot. Does anyone know if the 14.5 was a solo issue? How were these issued as sets?
I've also got a giveaway here. If you'd like this assortment of US used stamps(that I mailed a gift with and had the stamps returned to me). Send me a letter requesting it soon, like tomorrow. Because one month from now I will random pick a winner. Even if you don't win the drawing, you will still recieve a letter from me with a nice commemorative on it(2 if you are international and 4 if you win the draw). Perhaps this is gambling and I need to move my website offshore. HEHE

Mulvane, Kansas
What a hoot. A friend asked me to look at some postcards of hers. I got a kick out of this card. What a swinging place to take a break from it all. At least you can tell where you are when you get there. Pass a hat for a town sign though. They have a post office too. As you can see by the cancel.
My friend doesn't collect stamps and if anyone collects this kind of stuff let me know and I'll give you her email address.

South Park
I never saw any of the other issues at the post office back in 92, only this one. One of four issues. Above is the cover/folder/sleeve or whatever. I guess I need my stamp terms book.Inside it is just some writing, no pics.
Does anyone watch South Park? It's an American cartoon. Anyways, just to show everyone how screwed up, or actually good American freedoms are, the producers made a cartoon of Mohammed in a good context and the Cartoon Network censered the image. Then they depicted Christ deficating on George Bush and the American flag, and the network did not censor it. Naturally everyone was in an uproar over the flag and Jesus. I heard no complaints about Bush however. hehe. I heard noone complaining about the censorship of Mohammed either. I think the network did the right thing by showing how we can have freedom of speech and still attempt to do the correct thing by censorship.
The truth of the matter actually was.... noone who did any complaining actually watches South Park. They would have been offended over every episode over the last ten years, how did they suddenly watch this episode?
As bad as the shows are, there is always a worthwhile lesson spoken at the end. They make fun of everyone. When they make fun of you, you'd better laugh your butt off, or else you've got no business laughing at everyone else!!!

St Helena
What happened to the weekend? I had 3 days off of work, a big party on Saturday and I wake up this Monday am. and the weekend is GONE!!! Back to the old grind again.
You may have noticed by now that I don't get alot of rare vintage stuff. That is so true. Someday I will run out of common items to post and will need to invest$$$ for new material to post. Coming soon one day I promise. Meanwhile I like this fdc St Helena 140-141. A little work gets put into these covers and I do like looking at them. I want the whole set of stamps. Catalogues around 75 bucks in Scott's for a set, maybe I can find a set for half caalogue. I hope so. Drop me a line if you have an extra entire set and can let me purchase a set. A set of all 13 used catalogues for even less, 35 bucks.
Catalogue prices are for very fine condition I might add. So most sets available I would hope have a slightly lower grade. I seldom even see classic stamps perfectly centered.
