Jainism
Todays stamp displays the Calcutta Jain Temple aka Parshwanath Temple. Jainism is an ancient Indian religion, which after reading about it, seems to me to bear a lot of practices of Buddhism. I couldn't help but notice that the symbol they use is unfortunately the same symbol as that adopted by the Nazi's, what a horrible thing for people of any religious faith to have to deal with. 1 and a quarter Annas!!

Hindu Temple
The trend ends today with the 1 Anna in the set. This Hindu temple is quite old, parts of it are believed to date back almost a thousand years.
While the centering leaves a bit to be desired, MNH is a bonus.

Kolkata
I learn something new every day, or should I say something old? When was Calcutta renamed Kolkata? I'm usually the last to learn everything. Anywho...this 9 Pies stamp has the Victoria Memorial in (the formerly named) Calcutta. I sense a theme trend with this set of King George Silver Jubilee's. Let's see if this trend continues. Indian currency confounds me, but I think only because the names have been changed. There were either 16 Pies in an Anna or 12, perhaps someone can help me with that one. But what is a Rupee then?

Memorials that serve an actual function are the best of all. This one serves as a museum and gardens.

Gateway of India
I'm closing in on having all the King George Silver Jubilee issues. It's quite fitting that the Gateway is on this issue from this Indian 1/2 Anna. The Gateway was built to commemorate George along with Queen Mary's visit in December of 1911.
India's commemorative series catalogues at the higher end of value when compared to the other countries which issued them. They are in my view more aesthetically pleasing on the whole also.

Hollerbaum & Schmidt
I haven't a clue?!!!!!! Have you? I picked these up at an auction today. No clue what they are, but I figured they'd make nice bookmarks if nothing else for $4. I happened to notice one has a good tear, It's been quite awhile since I made a find of something interesting. This Hollerbaum & Shmidt company that made these really has some interest. A web search pulls up some interesting artwork.

Update...(sort of)... I was at the St Louis Stamp Expo last weekend and a gentleman explained to me that these were given out to subscribers of newspapers and that they were printed as a series. They also have sales advertisements printed on the back. I know someone collected them now and that they weren't tickets to a show or something as I and several people I had shown them to had guessed.
