Queens Park Hotel?

This FDC throws me for a loop. Is there something to this Queen's Park Hotel? I saw a postcard on ebay(not an fdc) from this place.

Bush is a crook worse then Nixon. Only difference is he breaks all the laws imaginable, in fact all the laws our nation is proud of and gets away with it!!!!

Don't get me wrong, I think he's a hell of a shmuck.

Liberia Centenary FDC

Speaking of Nations anniversaries, here's a centenary commemoration of Liberia.
I don't mean to rag, but why are FDC's always cancelled so dang heavy? If you buy a USPS FDC today at the US Post Office they always seem to try to oblitate the stamp. This is a shame here, because it really is a beautiful stamp.
Thanks for asking Moo. I started looking tonight. I've got so many piles I'm being vexed. Your gonna have to come out and visit awhile and help me find them I think. Easy task. I'll keep looking in the meantime.
Who thinks this Congress woman from Atlanta should be commended for striking the security guard who was watching out for everyones safety? 535 Congressman? I'd be guilty.
I was a security guard 2 years ago at a Cardinals game(St Louis) on opening day. At the gate I asked for a man's ID and the crowd started heckling me. It was the 3rd base coach. Martinez I think(still don't really know who it is). Anyways, he just laughed and showed me his ID, he understood I was only doing my job. It was embarrasing though.
What's baseball got to do with stamps? I think the US Post is coming out with some baseball stamps this year.
OK,Michael Dodd(CDD Stamps link on side of page) Is amazingly keeping his blog alive from the other side of the world. To think that it took Magellan years to circle the globe and barely 20 men survived out of hundreds, Magellan included. It's an amazing leap mankind has taken. We even drive remote control cars on Mars. I wish Radio Shack sold those.

wind powered ship

I was foolish yesterday to even suggest that those mail boats were responsible for long delays in mail delivery. It's obvious by the length of delays that no self propelled vessel could possibly travel that slow. Mail service obviously uses ships powered by wind and sail to mail my letters. Either that or they get a few men to ROW in an old Galleon which is under manned.
Time sure heals wounds. These stamps and this cover honor the establishment and independence of America. It wasn't such a noble thing in GB's eyes a couple hundred years ago.
I'll bet those ships landing on Long Island were carrying letters. Probably about as fast as the mail boats in yesterdays column.
Why is the Battle of Jersey depicted on a Jersey and Massachusetts stamp commemorating the US bicentennial? The battle was in 1881 5 years AFTER the US declared independance. Weak stamp, very weak. Granted an artist from Mass drew it, but there is no evidence that he was ever really IN Jersey. Ever!!!

Mail Boats

Have you ever waited month after month for a letter to arrive, only to assume it was never sent and then months later it actually arrives? It probably was sent on one of these bad boys. I'll extrapolate more on this tomorrow.

Jersey

Ships today, good old fighting ships. While it was tough sinking these these in a real battle, it was common to see high casualties in a battle.
I purchased a set of stamps directly from Jersey Post last year and it seems like every other week now I get flyers advertising stamps from them.
My clock is thrown way out of whack today. I'm going back to bed and getting some more shut eye. I'm gonna be a sleepy head on my day off today.

British Antarctic Territory

Late presses today. Must have had equpment problem, I've still made my Monday deadline with 8 hours till deadline.
This is a nice cover, because it's #1 British Antartic territory. #2 Silver Jubilee issue. #3 It has a ship on it(albeit granted I can't deduce the ship as it's not mentioned much because the event depicted is the land crossing of Antarctica). What more do you want? OK it's an FDC also. That's #4.

Belarus

I stepped outside, it's cool tonight 50 degree F. Looking at the green on these stamps and seeing my lawn made me realixe, I've got some yardwork to do.
Here's a good country to collect if you don't want to seek thousands of stamps, many of which are nice to talk about, but unless your a millionare you can't afford it. Then again perhaps also a few of us obsessive compulsive types may try anyways. Me? I want it all.

Nice letter from Belarus today. So nice to scratch another country off the list. I don't know why the Post Office scratched off my name and rewrote it. It was forwarded to my new address. I cut and pasted the address change into the cover. The 02 Sycamore I inserted into it. I also deleted her name and address in the return. It's on a postal envelope. Their is no actual stamp, only the image of one printed on the envelope. I'm gonna have to write back now and request some juicy commemoratives.

Almost forgot!! (sung to Happy Birthday melody) Happy Birthday to me. Happy Birthday to me. Happy Birthday to me. Happy Birthday to me. How old am I? How old am I? How old am I? How old am I? I'm 44 years old. I'm 44 years old. I'm 44 years old. I'm 44 years old.
