Auto License Tag renewal

Here in Illinois, we buy our state auto license plate sticker to put on our car plates. $78.00 dollars this sticker cost me, It's so valuable in mint condition that I want to keep it like I recieved it. On a peelable sticker back stuck to the back of the bill that was mailable(I walked in with the bill).

Illegal immigrants are the big news topic here in the US right now. It's hard to believe that people who are breaking the law are protesting. It's hard to believe someone who is illegally here is even allowed to live here, let alone protest their right to be here!!!! Is the US screwed up or what????

What do illegal immigrants have to do with stamps and covers? Well, they do write home to their families and send money. I just need someone to send me one of those covers. Please? Better yet, how about a cover from mexico?

I see Mexico's Congress decriminalized possesion of drugs for people who use them to free up police for large scale operations. Good call, the jails are full of addicts. Jailing someone for being an addict is ludicrous. If you want to fight drugs go after the big time people with large distribution, not the millions of users.

Wait, did I say millions of users? Marijuana, cocaine, and heroin will all be legal in personal use size. I gotta say cocaine and heroin should stay illegal. Both of those drugs destroy people badly, pot doesn't seem like it is any worse then alcohol. I always hear of cocaine addicts and heroin addicts, but I never hear about marijuana addicts.

China and Chang Tso-lin and Bush's news station

Assasinated just 3 months after these stamps were issued March 1 1928, the Japanese army was quite a force for him to deal with. Cool set of stamps, in my book anyways. I'll bet this guy was pretty ruthless, well you would have to be way back then.

My Scott's 04 lists this set at $48.00 mint and $52.50 used. Most of the value is on the red $1 stamp.

Interesting military history, a real war lord. More info on him at this wikipedia site. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chang_Tso-lin

Another set that I'm curious what other catalogues value this set at. I do plan on selling these someday, when I'm running out of money. Unless I hit the Lotto.

Have you heard that latest garbage from the White House? Only FOX news was allowed to be shown on Air Force One. Or at least was until someone asked if they could watch CNN and were told no.

To all of you outside the US, FOX news is a very right wing news agency that basically only reports on news in such a light that you would think they twist news so that the President looks good. Which is pretty darned tough to do these days.

Sugar Ray Robinson?

I like to watch fights, but why this guy? Tyson would have been a good one until his erratic behavior tainted him. Why not a boxer that someone as young as 40 can at least remember?

Do I complain too much about US issues?

If you wonder how I protect my collection from theives, it's simple. A 50 lb bag of dog food every month or so. Polly, the one on the right is the first alert, Mojo on the left is the real biter(he's bit me), Petie in the middle would make anyone feel safe if she were on their side, don't let her sweet, I'm begging for a treat sad face fool you.

4th of July postmark and haystack

This caught my eye from my friends set of Post Cards. It's sent on the 4th of July. 1906. When did the postal workers get the 4th off finally? Actually I think some still do, but the post offices themselves are closed. Someone out there knows the answer.

Here's the "haystack" I referred to on Suzi's blogspot(I'll post a link when I get som extra time permament). http://suzisstamps.blogspot.com/

If you like to get big mixtures, and would like a variety, this is exactly as she describes it. I liked the stack. I remember getting some interesting stamps and got a good diverse assortment. If you order one from her, write her and say Jim Beranis referred you and my NEW!!! NEW!!! address is 902 Sycamore St,
Belleville, IL
62220

Thank you, thank you very much. Hehe, my Presley imitation.

US Franklin

To say I'm disaponted in this issue is both true and false. I'm excited they issued a commorative stamp(as did many nations), but by the same token, I don't like the artwork. He should have been engraved as he was in the early classic US stamps, not this artsy fartsy New England style painting. This set reminds me of some of the crappy artistic stamps during the Bicentenial 1776-1976 blitz. I'm sorry to all you block number collectors out there for the 1111, hey give me a break, it just came out.

Disney Romance

With as much money as Disney makes on selling the characters on everything from hats to boots and nonwear items from toys to cup holders, I hope that the USPS is making something off of all the advertising they are getting with these stamps that just recently came out.

Shopping Post Card

I don't even want to look. Is this the same gal that was in Mulvaney who sent this card? Her idea of shopping is a fantasy in that case. Ain't we all high and mighty in Mulvaney. Oh, I take that back, she's writing from Humboldt. A much fancier town(right).
