Duplicates, odds and ends

Last week I responded to an ad for seventy years of duplicates, odds and ends being cleaned out.

I was given a very fast response and pleased with a few items that I didn't anticipate,

such as this booklet of 7 stamps.
I wouldn't hesitate responding to another ad from Mr I. Olson.

This is the 150th anniversary of the US Constitution.
A whole set. I'm feeling lucky in my sortings of stamps lately.
These appear to be CTO's.
These stamps were printed by the American Bank Note Co.

Pan America

When do you have a complete set that is incomplete? When you have this set of 4 that has another set issued as air mail stamps(different engraving).

These are the flags of the 21 American Republics and the 50th Anniversary of the Pan American Union.

US Centennial

................Click for detail...............

I really like this 98 centennial sheet. The used the actual plates for the copies. Not sure of the process(yet).

The holidays have begun in the greater St Louis area. Stay home, the shops and markets are too packed. If you haven't stocked up by now I can feel for you.

I played chess a little bit at school and with my father. I was never really good at it.

Ryukyu

Sweet, I like the higher $$

I've seen Ryukyu advertised in stamp catalogues, never really gave them much thought till today.

These airmails look slick.

This piece of a postal card really gets me thinking.
Now I must have an entire Ryukyu postal card.
What don't I want?

I just saw the postal card on sale for $90 online. Maybe I'll hold on to this and wait for the postal card.

I came across these in a generous mixture I recieved for $10 in a Linn's advertisement. His advertisement said his strength was in classics and he was being honest. I really enjoyed sorting through half of it tonight.
Some China, Saudi Arabia, Portugal, Romania, Ireland, Germany, Russia and Poland to name a few.
Ryukyu is a chain of islands that was part of Japan until WW2 when the US occupied it. I hope it rules itself now and doesn't need us there.

HEY MARY!!!!!

This cover ties with Mary going to Ireland to visit Jen and Steph.

If she thinks of it I'd love letters and or postcards with commemoratives probably definitives on postcards.

Be sure to stop back in Amsterdam where you and Rosie got me back into stamps.

Also be sure to go to one of those coffee houses for me.

Thanks!!

Snowflakes

No snow on the ground here. It's more like spring now this week.

Do I hear global warming?

More winter design stamps tonight. Made to be foldable like yesterdays.

I thought no two flakes were exactly alike?

Florida wetlands

If you got enough broadband click on the images for hirez

I lived in Florida for about 9 years, the wildlife and fishing is the best.

Just get ready to board up the house every year.

This clocked in at the limit of my upload limit. Nice sheet. Got 3 plan on sending some mail out contributors and breaking them up for postage. Of course if there is anyone who is nuts on fauna topical and wants a sheet, let me know in the next couple days.

Maybe I should buy a couple more sheets?

U.S.S. Argonaut

Being the ex navy man that I am and also an ex submarine builder I really like this cover.

I find the year cancel a bit odd being out of the circle.

Obviously stamp collecting was much more popular back in the thirties.

I wonder how many cachet covers the fleet puts out now?

Maybe I shouldn't have thought of that.

It's hard to imagine that we built the largest submarine to lay mines.
Todays largest submarine is made to lay waste to the world.
Who's worried about global warming?

Iran

For some reason that I cannot fathom. I find this 1912 Shah, to be my favorite stamp.
As common as they are, I don't fall on them everyday. If you've got a couple, overprints included, please let me know.

I apologize to several folks I've recieved stuff from the past several months. I'm behind on return covers, not from lack of funds but pure being busy and laziness. I've been meaning to make a 15 mile trip for thank you's but just need to get it done this week.

Basically, If I posted a cover from you and haven't responded, I got something coming your way shortly.

In the meantime, all I can say is that.......
Let's hope that Bush opens talks with Iran and Syria, whether he likes it or not.
James Baker? Tell stupid GWB and DC to step down or go to jail for what they've done bringing down the US and the Constitution of the US for their own vain purposes.

Coat of Arms

As is not uncommon. I'm missing the last stamp in this set of 4.

#166 thru 169 in Scott. The 50 center and 1 dollar are still valued $4.50 apiece in the 2003 catalogue.

The first two easily fluffed off the old album page. The 50 cent plate corner was not as cooperative. Being not hinged and directly applied, it began to thin the stamp. I need to soak it of the page.

Where can I find more time? Does anyone have extra time they could send me?

Coincidence? Yesterdays post turned out to be just that. Read my daughters comments.
I truly had no idea when they had planned on travelling.
