Black Hole

I've grown accustomed to using tongs, granted, most of my collection, as often as I handle it. Is fine with casual touching, but I like the habit of using tongs for that occasional "find".
Well, I've discovered that I have a force in my home that swallows tongs and never lets them escape.
I've lost several of these, and this force of nature exists very close to where I use them.
I'd just like to know if any of you are finding stamp tongs popping out of thin air.

I'm missing the 7, 25 and 100. Greek mythology stories always fascinated me, but the artwork of mythology is just as fascinating.

Oh yeah!!!

Virgin Islands purchase

Wouldn't you think the Islands would become a state if we purchased them?

Kenmore Stamp Company

Kenmore has been around for awhile. I remember seeing books of matches with special offers.
I find Newfoundland just before Canada in the Scott's catalogue.
I do say, I really admire looking at Newfoundland stamps.

Christmas down under

The stamps I got on a cover from MD. The postal authorities demolished the top edge of the cover. Only MD's technique of placing stamps away from the edges saved these stamps.

Be sure to go to the Cddstamps page and enter the Christmas prize contest. The clock is ticking away!! http://www.cddstamps.com/competition.htm

I saw on the news today that Gatorland in Florida had a fire and lost only a couple alligators and snakes.
This Croc stamp is not just coincidence. This news is a perfect example of Jeism.

The Texas Philatelist

Not the sharpest images, sorry.

Click to get a larger image to view.

My son called me to say he happened across this blog article which mentions my blog and several others of note, I concur with the authors' view of the best blog for daily news and info reading(see my favorite in the link section).

I'm surprised I wasn't contacted for one of my images to be published. Either way, it should be noted that my Main St. address shown in the arcticle is OLD!!! It's 902 Sycamore now.

The author didn't look at all my blogs, because there are several items that you wouldn't find in a dealers bargain box, as he says!!!

Still searching.....

Much is to be found on simple covers. This here is a nice example of a metered stamp. Transportation series.

Special anniversary cancelation. My Spanish is poor, something about the Virgin Mary. Comments are more then welcome with greater info.

This woman is rumored to appear now and then......

Malaysia

Wow!! Florence, I'm indebted to you.

Spectacular stamps and also a cover for my search for all covers quest.

For those who don't know, lizarddrizzle is my other msn email address. I'm a former herper. I think everyone should have a tank with a couple Tokay's.

I personally rank Malaysia #1 in architecture. So you know they always have stunning design stamps.

Lighthouses....oh my god!!!! I got it all on this cover!!!

U.N. flag covers and call for covers

Luxembourg, Yugoslavia, Fiji, Vietnam, France, Turkey, Bangladesh, Mali, Suriname, Guinea, El Salvador, Venezuela, Rwanda, Madagascar, United Republic of Cameroon, and Hungary.
....click on the cover for more detail....

If you'd blike to see any more then the few I scanned tonight, well...leave a comment. Remember I'm open to trades!!!! hint hint.

Heres the call.

Email this call to someone(most likely a flag stamp collector....and there are many or a UN or FDC fanatic. Even a fellow stamp collector. and ask them to forward it to an internet group they are in. Hopefully, and I mean hopefully....at this stage, according to this study that was recently done by a university. Someone should be able to know someone in one of these countries and I can check them off my want list. France I've already got a letter from, but I like the flag and wanted to post it. every other country I really do need a letter from.

If this works at all for me I'll let you know. If it doesn't, that pirate you saw the other day might pull into your harbor.
ARRRRRGH!!!!

I need a cover from each of these countries. Help me out by just forwarding a link to your stamp internet friend...we all seem to have them. Hopefully everyone will forward it so rapidly that I can get every country in the world.
OK, ....... I at least can dream can't I?
Do I sound like a needy S.O.B?
I might as well ask you to bequeath your collection to me. hehe(I would put it to good use for blog postings)

I also need to hit the lottery, the only problem is, that I never buy any tickets.

Ahoy Matee!!

It's that time of year. Krash my africa grey is up behind my right shoulder at the window. A real anti social bird. Paco my baby yellow naped amazon is in my left hand, Booboo is on my shoulder(blue crown conure) and Curly the military macaw is on my right elbow. Ain't I scary looking? You wouldn't want to bump into me on a dark corner.

Germany

Oh if this stamp were only missing a cancellation. Instead of a couple dollars in the catalogue, it'd be a couple hundred!!

Last week I posted a space set. Since then, everywhere I look is a space themed stamp!!

I'm still looking for this rocket stamp in my catalogue... gotta run to work.

Plow horse and anteater

Last September I posted an overprinted version of the stamp below.

Above is a 1921 German plowhorse from Germany. No cancel which cuts the value by more then half.

Do you see two horse heads?

What is it I like about this anteater engraving?

Elvis redux

I've found a solution, but not the cause.
I'd hastily blamed beta blogspot. This appears to work fine with my default browser which I'd never used. All is well, and if you don't know what this is about....you haven't been reading my blog. Thanks Cees for the comment. I'd given up hope.

Elvis is alive!!

Yes, I've been asked if I have the Elvis stamp.

A collector of stamps has never asked me that however.

That kind of tells you how many non stamp collectors have the Elvis stamp.

Problems tonight with uploading images. Sorry bout that.

Just so you believe me, I posted the image as a message in my In search of stamps forum link. (look on the right side of my blog)

New office building?

A new one in the FDC circuit for me. I don't have any Phd's in stamp collecting.

This appears to be an FDC as in"First day the post office opens".

I'm not certain though. Comments are very welcome here.

One could spend a lifetime just looking for these gems.

One of these days I will narrow my search.

I still need covers mailed to me from everywhere. Even repeat countries are cool for the new sets of stamps. I promise to respond in kind.

I really like the stamps from Portugal the other day.

Maybe + some if your lucky!!

Don't be shy to leave a comment for me to be able to quote one of you traders by.

I really don't want to beat my own drum, so if you think of anyone you know is a good exchanger of covers, please fwd a link to this site. I hate going into different trade groups and mentioning my blog site. I really don't want to do it.

http://blog.michael.dodd.com/ happened to mention yesterday that the IPDA was mentioned in http://stampcollectingroundup.blogspot.com/

I could be in the IPDA chatroom sometime.

Going on and on tonight......sorry.

NOT!!!

This is no doubt a tough card to cypher out where it was mailed from. No postage stamp even!!!

OH!! I take that back. I guess all you had to do was pencil in FREE in place of the stamp!!

Portugal Masked Cover

Today turned out to be exciting!!

I got home and found this cover in my mailbox. Promised to me but forgotten about. I was in the IPDA chatroom during the marathon chat and mentioned to this guy that I needed Portugal in my quest.

By the way Jose, I can help you out on the space stamps, I just happen to have a few.

Masks are pretty cool. It's getting to be the time of year we all put costumes on for different festivals thruout the world.

Halloween comes to mind for me.

Even a super cool metered stamp!!!

Always looking for more countries. I still need Mexico to finish North America off. Costa Rica is the only Central American cover I have. Germany? Austria? Poland? Help!!!!
